Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Effective date: October 8, 2026
Who We Are
Focus Crossroads is a division of Russell Marketing Research, Inc., a market research recruiting firm headquartered in East Rutherford, New Jersey. We connect research teams with expert and consumer participants through our nationwide recruiting network and our premium NYC-area focus group facility.
This policy explains how we handle your information when you visit our website at focuscrossroads.com, contact us, or communicate with us by phone, email, or text message. If you participate in research or have registered with our research network, please also review our Respondent Privacy Policy, which covers how we protect your information in the context of market research.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
We collect information you voluntarily submit through our website forms:
- Contact form — your name, email address, company name, project type, and an optional project description. We use this to respond to your inquiry.
- Research network registration forms — if you apply to join our consumer research network or expert network, we collect additional information such as your phone number, address, date of birth, professional details, and demographic information. Our Respondent Privacy Policy covers how this data is handled in full detail.
- Direct communications — if you contact us by phone, email, text message, through a paper form or service agreement, or in person, we may collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, company, communication preferences, and the content of your communications.
- SMS consent records — when you agree to receive text messages, we may record your mobile phone number, the date and time of consent, the method used to obtain consent, and your opt-in or opt-out status.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we process technical information to operate and protect the site. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are subject to your separate cookie choices. Cloudflare Web Analytics runs independently, as described below:
- Optional website analytics — when enabled and you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4, managed through Google Tag Manager, helps us understand page visits, confirmed enquiry and signup submissions, contact-link clicks, and download clicks. Clicks do not establish that a call, email, or download was completed. Google may process cookie identifiers, page information, browser and device information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This service is separate from Cloudflare statistics, hosting, and security logs.
- Cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page-visit and website-performance statistics, including page paths, referring sites, country, browser, and device type. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics or fingerprint individuals for analytics. It runs automatically, including before you make a cookie choice and after you reject optional services. It does not create session recordings, and we do not send it our form contents or custom conversion events. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Optional session recordings and heatmaps — when enabled and you separately accept recordings, Microsoft Clarity helps us understand clicks, scrolling, and interactions on selected public marketing pages. Form inputs and editable areas are masked; public marketing text may appear in recordings. We exclude contact, signup, respondent, and legal pages, and pages with URL query strings or fragments. Recording consent is independent of analytics consent.
- Server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs basic request data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. These logs are used for security and performance monitoring and are retained per Cloudflare's standard data retention policies.
- Security verification — our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a CAPTCHA alternative that verifies you are a real person. This may involve analyzing browser characteristics but does not use traditional tracking cookies.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Responding to inquiries — when you submit our contact form, we use your information to follow up on your request. Our team receives an email notification so we can respond promptly.
- Providing conversational support — if you consent to text messaging, we use your mobile number to answer questions, provide customer support, coordinate appointments, and send service-related updates. We do not use this conversational messaging program to send marketing or promotional messages.
- Processing research network applications — when you sign up for our research network, we validate your contact information to maintain the quality of our participant records. This involves third-party validation services described below.
- Improving the website — aggregated analytics help us understand which pages are useful and where we can improve.
- Preventing fraud — rate limiting, honeypot fields, and Cloudflare Turnstile help us prevent spam and fraudulent form submissions.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate and protect our website. Each service receives only the minimum data necessary for its function:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, Turnstile bot protection, and cookieless Web Analytics, which runs independently of the Google Analytics and Clarity choices.
- Google — Google Tag Manager manages the optional measurement services and loads only when a permitted service is accepted. Google Analytics loads only with analytics consent. Google processes information on its systems, which may be outside your country. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy. Our contact page also includes Google Maps, which connects to Google separately to display the map.
- Microsoft Clarity — optional behavioral measurements, heatmaps, and masked session recordings to improve website usability. Clarity loads only with recording consent on eligible public pages. Microsoft processes this usage information under its Privacy Statement; processing may take place outside your country. Our configuration keeps advertising consent denied and does not enable advertising or remarketing integrations.
- Microsoft Azure — our backend application and database are hosted on Azure. Application Insights is used for error tracking and performance monitoring.
- Microsoft 365 — we use Microsoft Graph API to send email notifications when a contact form is submitted.
- Grasshopper — our business phone and messaging provider, used to transmit and receive customer calls and text messages.
- NeverBounce — email address validation for research network registration forms.
- NumVerify — phone number validation for research network registration forms.
- Melissa Data — mailing address validation for consumer research network registration forms.
We limit the information provided to each service according to its purpose. Providers process information under the applicable service terms and privacy statements, including the Google and Microsoft statements linked above. We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.
SMS Privacy and Data Sharing
We use your phone number to send SMS updates, including customer support messages, appointment coordination and confirmations, account notifications, and service updates.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing is limited to what is necessary to provide our services.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share mobile information, SMS opt-in data, or consent records with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Contact-form contents, research network registration details, research responses, mobile numbers, and SMS consent records are not included in our website analytics events or session recordings.
Mobile information and SMS consent records may be processed by service providers solely to deliver and support the requested messaging services, or disclosed when required by law. They are not provided to Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity.
Other information may be processed by the service providers described in this policy for the stated purposes, including optional website measurement after the relevant consent. Website measurement consent does not grant SMS consent or permission to disclose research responses.
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, or sharing of user data.
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP. After we send a confirmation of your opt-out, you will no longer receive messages from that messaging program unless you opt in again.

Cookies and Tracking
Essential services support website operation, security, and forms. Google Analytics and Clarity session recordings are separate choices, both off until accepted. Cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics runs independently of these choices and is not disabled by Reject optional or Global Privacy Control. Rejecting either does not prevent you from browsing, contacting us, or applying to join our research network.
- Cookie preferences —
fc_cookie_consentremembers your analytics and recording choices for up to 180 days. It is an essential first-party cookie. We may ask you to choose again when these services or disclosures change. - Analytics cookies — when Google Analytics is enabled and accepted, cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Google Analytics normally sets these cookies for up to two years, subject to the configured duration and browser limits. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use analytics cookies. - Clarity cookies — when recordings are enabled and accepted,
_clckcan remember a browser identifier and preferences for up to one year, and_clskcan connect page views into a recording session for up to one day. Browser limits and the service configuration may shorten these periods. - Advertising — this analytics setup does not enable advertising, remarketing, Google signals, or personalized advertising.
- Security and forms — Cloudflare Turnstile and our hosting services may use technical information and necessary cookies to protect the site and verify form submissions.
Use Cookie settings or the link in the footer to accept, reject, or withdraw either choice. If Google Analytics or Clarity has already loaded, withdrawing its consent reloads the page to stop the loaded scripts and removes its accessible first-party cookies for this website. Withdrawal does not undo information already transmitted; you can contact us about that information using the details below. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep Google Analytics and Clarity off. These controls do not stop cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Our custom Google Analytics events omit URL query strings, fragments, full referrers, link text, email addresses, telephone numbers, and download filenames. They report fixed categories, such as an enquiry confirmed successful or a telephone-link click, without form entries, SMS consent records, participant profiles, or research responses. These choices are separate from consent to receive messages or participate in research. Google Maps on the contact page and essential security services are separate from optional website measurement.
Data Retention
- Contact form submissions are retained for up to two years, after which they are deleted.
- Research network member data is retained for as long as you are an active member of our research network. See our Respondent Privacy Policy for details.
- Server logs are retained per Cloudflare's standard retention periods.
- Optional measurement — Google Analytics retention depends on the configured property settings and data type. Microsoft Clarity normally retains playback data for 30 days; labeled or favorited sessions and heatmaps can be retained for nine months. See Clarity's retention information. Cookie expiration is separate from retention of information already processed by a provider.
Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or sharing. These safeguards include written access and confidentiality practices, access limited to authorized employees and service providers with a business need, encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, secure Microsoft Azure hosting, CAPTCHA verification, rate limiting, and physical controls for systems and records under our control.
While no system is completely secure, we are committed to protecting your information and will promptly notify affected individuals in the unlikely event of a data breach.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Delete your personal information from our systems
- Opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP or using another method described above
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes that affect how we use your personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
